Do I need to fill each tube completely?

Each tube must be filled to capacity. Failure to do so may require recollection.

How long will it take to receive my ALCAT Test Results?

Web results are posted within 5 business days. Hard copies will be received within 10 business days.

Is this a food allergy test?

The ALCAT Test is NOT a food allergy test. It is designed to test for intolerances, which have a delayed reaction.

Is the ALCAT Test covered by insurance?

Cell Science Systems does not accept/file Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, FEP, Aetna or any HMO’s. CSS bills all tests to insurance companies at list fees. CSS offers a free insurance benefits verification service for healthcare providers. Account Activation required.

What are the medication restrictions for the ALCAT Test?

Is this a blood test?

Yes

Is fasting required before taking the ALCAT Test?

No

What do the asterisks on the ALCAT Test results mean?

An asterisk represents your mild intolerances.

What do the blue boxes on the ALCAT Test results mean?

The blue boxes include items that should be removed from the diet due to reactions with other items.

What is the shipping procedure for the ALCAT Test?

Specimens must be shipped via UPS/FEDEX the SAME DAY blood is drawn. Check with UPS/FEDEX prior to draw for express delivery cutoff times.

I know I have an allergy to a food. Why is it on my acceptable food list/Green Column?

This is due to the fact that the ALCAT Test detects sensitivities/intolerances and NOT allergies.

Do I have to go through a Healthcare Provider?

No. However, unlike an over the counter home allergy test, we still require a blood draw provided by a medical professional. You may also test and receive support from our sister company PreviMedica. 855-773-8463www.previmedica.com

How much support is available after testing, with my Healthcare Provider or ALCAT lab?

Each test done through a Healthcare Provider has access to a 30 minute post test review. (with Healthcare Provider authorization). In addition, each test result comes with a 52 page booklet titled Understanding Your Alcat Test Results.To view this booklet, click here.

Is there a draw fee?

When using one of our contacted walk in labs, or mobile services the cost is $50 per draw. (in the US- Canada may have additional fees)

Where do I have my sample drawn?

We have multiple options available depending on your geographic location. Contact our customer service team for information.

What happens if I cancel my test?

There is a $50 processing/shipping fee for all cancelled tests.

What happens if I do not select a panel on the requisition form?

If no panel is selected, the Platinum Comprehensive will be run and billed as a default panel.
